Twin Telepathy?

Maybe it was in the womb, perhaps in heaven, oh or twin telepathy...but at some point Justin and Megan had a meeting. They decided:

I will Pat-a-Cake

and...

I will toss it high!

Dad for Rent!

As the mom their are plenty of things that don't bother me a bit--you know, blood, burns, needles, vomit, etc. But, there is one thing that just creeps me out and that is PULLING TEETH. I loathe it. I don't care to even wiggle them, not to mention pull them out of my children's head. Lucky for me, and not so lucky for the kiddos, Travis finds great joy in removing teeth. In fact, he borderline obsesses over the loose tooth until he has it removed, and can't stand the sight of the little tooth dangling by a thread and as you are about to witness is not afraid to tackle in order to remove the nuisance.

A Rare Helmet Off Moment

Megan is not crawling yet, and if she could we would be all done with therapy and all of the other appointments that seem to annoy her. However, she is making amazing progress. She sits up so well, though still tipping her head in her sweet endearing little way. She is starting to make those transitional movements that with every other baby we seem to have taken forgranted. Just this week she has started to go from sitting up, then to her side, and finally to her tummy! Tummy time is the very best exercise for her, so these are exciting times!

Mr. Mobile

Boy can Justin crawl! He has been mobile for quite a while doing the roley poley thing, but two weeks ago he took off on all fours and he has the bumps and bruises to prove it. Now, it seems his goal is to crawl to find something to stand up on--it reminds me so much of the way Annie used to be, but with a little more crawling (since she sort of skipped that step). With crawling comes messes and boy have we been finding some adorable ones these days!

Suzie

The Garretts (our neighbors) got a puppy! She is so cute, and boy is she loved at our house. She has been for rides in the jeep, had a slumber party with our dog Chill, ridden in the wagon, and been carried around way more than she probably cares to be. It is so fun to watch all the kids with her. It has us itching for a puppy around here...but the mom and dad at this house can't seem to agree on the type of puppy we should have. Stay tuned...

Rainbirds

Though I would never wish him to grow up, there is a part of me that cannot wait to see what Jake will be when he grows up. He loves to know how everything works, he is amazing with people, NEVER stops asking questions, and is such a joy to be around. Around the house he just can't seem to get enough of the vacuum, the mixer, and the sprinklers. Not long ago, he was all business getting some work done in the yard and it seems as though he added a head to our sprinkler system.

The Good Samaritans

Tonight's Family Night lesson was on service and we talked about the story of the Good Samaritan. In an attempt to hold their attention, I thought it would be fun to act it out. Justin and Megan were the thieves and took Annie to the ground as the robbed and beat her. Jake was the Priest who walked on by and Emma the Levite who did the same. Travis was the Samaritan happy to swoop in and get Annie's kisses and take good care of her. It held their attention for a bit, but as soon as I was done reading the verses from Luke, they were asking to go for rides on the four wheeler. I hope some of it sunk in!

The Graduate

We are so proud of Emma our kindergarten graduate! It seems as though everything comes easily to Emma and school is definitely no exception. She did so well in school this year. It is hard to believe that in just a few months she will be spending the whole day at school. I am really going to miss her company and her help. Congratulations Emma! The class of 2021?! Wow.

Happy Birthday Travis!!

Travis is 35!!! He got an ipod and a bbq for his birthday, and Meg hooked him up with some adorable patty cakes. You'll notice our family birthday dinner wouldn't have been complete without Amber there too. :) Travis let Red Robin sing to him...it was a first! He threatened to run to the bathroom, but hung in there and even let them put balloons on his ears. Happy Birthday Travis. Please don't look too carefully at the cake, whoa.

Memorial Weekend

My paternal grandparents graves. It appears as though Jake was seriously mourning...

These poor cats were at Travis' cousin's house and nearly needed memorialized after all the love we showed them. One even got a "bath" in the sprinklers.

The graves of Travis' sister Amy Jane and brother Jeff

Travis' paternal grandparents

Memorial weekend was a week ago, but if you could see last week's calendar at our house it would be no surprise as to why it has taken this long to blog it. This video was taken just before we loaded the car to come home. I don't know exactly what it is about it that I find so hilarious, but for some reason it gives me the giggles every time I watch so I decided to post it. I really think the humor comes because it is just such a true 2 minute example of what it is like to live with Travis. The story behind the mini video is that I had a cyst that got very angry with me over memorial weekend. After Travis had a horrible dream that it went to my brain, I found a doctor on Memorial Day that would remove it. as is evident in the video, my loving Travis was loaded with sympathy.

Anyway, for Memorial Day we went to Rigby and stayed with Travis' mom and dad. It was a really nice weekend and fun to get away and see them for a few days. The babies did so well in the car and the older kids...well, they survived. Everyday someone asks me if we can go back.
