Christmas Eve Traditions

Christmas Eve has really become a day of traditions for our family. We always decorate sugar cookies, have a fun dinner at Grandma Jo's, and open new pajamas. This year I let the kids do the cookies all on their own. They were the most adorable shapes and the frosting varied from very little to "hey is there a cookie under there somewhere?". My favorite part of the day was when Grandpa read the Christmas story and Scott's oldest three kids (Savannah, Sara, and Josh) sang the sweetest Christmas song.

The new pajamas
The amazing cookies. This was actually taken early in the project. By the time the kids had finished the table was polka dotted with frosting!

We never did get our sugar cookies done this year. David tried with the kids but the dough recipe was not conducive to shapes (we found out too late) so we ended up converting those to snickerdoodles. Maybe we'll do them next week. :o) I got an awesome set of Christmas Cookie cutters on sale right after thanksgiving. It's a shame not to use them this year.
