Yellowstone!

In July we met up with the Kraupp family at a rented cabin in Island Park.  Five years ago we rented a similar cabin and talked about doing it every year.  Hard to believe five years have passed, and hopefully it won't take us five years to do this again, because it was so fun to get together.

The kids loved the cabin's hot tub

On our maiden voyage to Island Park five years ago, we rented boats and floated down the Henry's Fork of the Snake River.  It is no more than three feet deep for the entire float and absolutely beautiful.  It was my favorite part of our trip the first time around and we all decided it would be fun to do it again this year.  It didn't disappoint.  It was peaceful, beautiful, and so much fun to do together.

See that dock behind Justin?  As soon as we were done floating, he peed right there off the end of the dock.  I am not ashamed to admit I pretended he didn't belong to me. Ha!

after floating the river, we got cleaned up and ate (we did a lot of that!) and set out to find some fun fourth of July activities.  Everyone took their turn on a bull, then it was off to the Yellowstone Rodeo. After the rodeo, we enjoyed the amazing Island Park fireworks.  They were incredible.  Jake, ever the firework fan--was thrilled.

July 5th was Grandma Amy's birthday.  The girls stayed up late and decorated the cabin.

After breakfast we were off to explore Yellowstone Park.

Megan is head over heals for her cousin Tyler.  She had to be near him.  She updated him on her every move, even when she would change clothes.  He was very sweet to her.

Ah yes, the smells of Yellowstone.

We loved Yellowstone, but even more than that we loved being with our family.  Here's to hoping five more years don't pass before we do this again!
